Wine Makers Notes

At the Mayacamas Mountains source of our Syrah, heavy rains at harvest time meant carefully hand-selecting the undamaged fruit – selecting for the less-ripe berries.  After barrel aging, we blended the resulting lean Syrah with our ripe valley-floor Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and a good dose of aromatic Cabernet Franc.  We named this unique blend “Pluie Rouge” - French for red rain.

Tasting Notes

This red blend delivers a layered potpourri of enjoyment.  The nose offers up hints of mint, licorice, and ripe pomegranate, which is followed with subtle black cherry upon the first sip.  The palate continues with cranberry, cocoa, an alluring trace of leather and finishes off with lingering plum.  Recommend brief decanting prior to drinking.
